These are illustrations that were done for different clients. I enjoy putting form and color in a more graphic style to create visual impact. In this way a simple subject matter can reorient the viewer. They are invited to relax into the image even contemplate it. I enjoy themes that are environmental in the message they convey.
Often a story must be told where there are no photos. This was the case on 9-11. I was commissioned by Newsweek to cover many of the harrowing events of that day working only through written accounts and still shots of the people. Many of my clients are documentarians creating films to illustrate a scene. In some cases I’m asked to produce images of people while not showing the actual likenesses, in order to protect their identity.
